Pivoting to Freedom: Quitting My 20-Year IT Career to Reimagine Life

I'm in my late 40s and I just quit my job on August 28, 2025, after working almost 20 years in IT doing C# development.
What's got me here: My dad had a stroke in 2024. It made me think about my life. Do I want to keep working? I don't have a family. What am I working for? I don't spend a lot of money, and my house and car are paid off.
My net worth is enough for me to lean FIRE. I don't have to work, and I can get by. I wanted to move back to Taiwan and stay with my mother, but my house is paid off, and the current housing market isn't great for sellers.
Maybe I can live in Taiwan for half of the year and the other half stay in the US, or maybe I should take contract work in the US and just work lightly.
